APPLYING FOR A GRANT FROM THE CHRISTCHURCH FOOD FESTIVAL EDUCATION TRUST (CFFET)
The Christchurch Food Festival Education Trust (CFFET) is no longer able to provide workshops directly to schools. To enable the continuation of food education in Christchurch, CFFET is now offering grants to allow schools, and others, to organise and carry out this work. Grants may also be made available for other projects that meet the Trust’s aims and objectives.
What Grants are Available?
From September 2025, CFFET will accept applications for grants of up £500 to support a single project. Applicants can submit more than one application, but these must be for different aspects of the project. Grants are offered subject to available funds.
Who can apply?
Applications are accepted from schools and not-for-profit organisations to provide projects that meet the Trust’s aims and objectives. All projects must promote healthy eating and food preparation and be inclusive.
How to apply
In the first instance, complete the application form [LINK to form] with as much detail as possible about your proposed project and the amount you are requesting.
All applications will be considered by Trustees who may request further details.
When Can I apply?
There will be three sittings each year by Trustees to consider grant applications. Closing dates for each sitting will be published on this website. Applications can be submitted at any time but will only be considered at these sittings.
When will I know if I’m successful?
CFFET aims to reply to applicants within two weeks of the closing date before which your application has been received. You may be asked for further information before Trustees can decide whether to offer you a grant.
If I’m turned down, can I appeal?
The Trustees’ decision is final, though they will explain their reasons for rejecting your application. In some cases, this may allow you to amend your application and try again.
If successful, when will I receive the money?
If successful, the grant will be directly transferred to the account of which details have been provided on the application form. Trustees may decide that a grant is paid in more that one part.
What kinds of things will CFFET fund?
CFFET is open to applications for a variety of projects and items providing that the outcomes meet the Trust’s aims and objectives and are of benefit to those living and/or being educated within the Christchurch area. Examples include, Workshops, cookery equipment, cookery courses.
