The Mayor of Christchurch Councillor Nick Geary and Mrs Gillian Geary came along to the Grange school to meet the eight students from our Life Skills Course on their final afternoon. Also attending was Paul Mills chairman of the Clingan’s Trust who sponsored the course. The students were also supported by their parents and teachers who were able to see some of what the students have been taught over the past 7 weeks. Chicken Cow Mein, beef curry and meatballs were just some of the recipes cooked. Over the past few weeks they have learnt to how to use knives safely, to fillet fish and butcher a whole chicken along with learning about spices and how vegetables are grown.
